Industrial Relation and Labour Policies Seminar

Kathmandu, Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) with the support of Japan International Labour foundation (JILAF) organised an "Industrial Relation and Labour Policies Seminar" to betterment of industrial relation and strengthen of Trade Union Movement and constructive trade Union in Nepal. Mr. Khila Nath Dahal, President of NTUC, chaired the program. Mr. Ram Kumar Acharya, Secretary of Ministry of Labour and employment invited as a chief guest. Mr. Hiroyuki Nagumo, President, JILAF and H.E. Masashi Ogawa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Japan to Nepal was invited as a special guest. Acting President of GEFONT Mr. Hari Datta Joshi, Representative of FNCCI Mr. Hans Ram Pandey and Representative of ILO Nepal office Mr. Narayan Bhattarai were invited as guest. Ms. Asha singh Rathor, Depty. General-Secretary of NTUC was MC of the opening ceremony. Mr. Mahendra Prasad Yadav, General –Secretary of NTUC welcomed all the guest and participants in the program. The entire guest spoke about the better industrial relation during the opening session. The program participants were from the two major trade unions of Nepal- GEFONT and NTUC. Mr. Ryo Saito from JILAF, presented a paper on "Socio-Economic Development and Social Role of Labour Movement. In his presentation, He talked about the current scenario of topics and globalization. Mr. Uday Kumar Gupta from Ministry of Labour and Employment described the role of government to betterment of Industrial relation. Mr.Hansram Pandey from FNCCI explained the role of employers to betterment of Industrial relation and from workers side Mr. Sanjay Kumar Mishra explained the role of labour. In the second day, Treasurer Mr. Yogendra Kunwar presented a paper on Labour Law. The seminar concluded on identifying the action plan to strengthen the trade Union movement in Nepal and create a constructive Industrial relation. During the program, Mr. Ganesh Niroula, Mr. Ayodhya Pd. Yadav and Ms. Rama Poudyal Vice-President of NTUC were attended the whole seminar and monitor.
