NTUC/NTA organized 2-day Training program on Paralegal

November 11, 2016 In the joint collaboration of Nepal Trade Union Congress and Nepal Teachers' Association, 2 day Training program on Paralegal conducted on 10th and 11th November, 2016. The program was supported by WSM and number of attendees was more than 60. Senior Vice President of NTA Mr. Tejendra Jung Sahi chaired the program and stressed the importance of NTA as a Union and the agendas that must be followed to make it effective to implement. Meanwhile, President of NTA Mr. Keshav Niroula highlighted the program checklist and later also spell the constitution revision role in the program. Women Vice President Ms. Bishnu Pandey mentioned about the women participation and some exemplary issues of institutional exclusion. She also warns to take women power in every aspect of the organization ranging from NTA to government sector. Teacching as a decent work and also can sustain life were also dealt by her. General Secretary Mr. Rajendra Poudel described law of NTA constitution and presented the planning of informal teacher protest. Teachers' law in Nepal constitution and some improvement that must be taken place were also mentioned by him. The 2 day program started with the registration and inauguration and rested for a while with a tea break. Later, introduction and overview of the program followed the session. Formal and informal sector issues, ILO core convention and some other convention, Labor related Laws and social security were dealt in the first of the program. The second day geared up with the review of first day followed by tea break. Simultaneously, Collective bargaining, Grievances handling, organizing challenges and strategy were presented in the first hour of the session. The session got some sigh with the lunch break. Future organizing plan, presentation and closing were the session in which the participant jotted down their queries, misconception and question regarding the program.
