107th International women workers day Observed by NTUC Women Committee

March 8, 2017, Kathmandu.

On the occassion of 107th International women workers day, Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) Women Committee performed a rally programme with slogan "Be bold for Change: Dignified jobs for women Empowerment". The program rally turned into the mass meeting where different sectors women and men participated and chanted their voices for prosperity dignity. Supporting International Women's Day and showing strong commitment to gender equality as well.

The mass meeting was addressed by Peace and reconstruction Minster Ms. Sita Devi Yadav as a chief guest of program. She told to focusing for women education as a bridge for overall women development. The program was chaired by Ms. Sudha Dahal President of NTUC Women Committee. She stressed a deep concern about the so call dominance of male in the patriachial society and also refuted to come forward and take a stand for the rights, inclusion, opportunity and justicce. Similarly, NTUC President Khila Nath Dahal, SARTUC General Secretary Mr. Laxman Basnet, NTUC Vice President Ms. Rama Poudel also gave contemporary women issues and problem faced in the present scenario in different sectors and areas. More than 2000 walked from Bhadrakali to Shantibatika and collaborated in the labour mass meeting at Ratnapark.
